If you've been looking around my website and like the images, but are looking for an affordable alternative, I have giclee prints available--just ask! Currently, I have the following still lives: Cha-Cha (the onions), Conference (the garlics), and Turvy-Topsy (the pointy squash). I also have two Tanglewood prints available, "Ode to Joy" (Michael Tilson Thomas conduction the 2009 season finale), and "After the concert" (a view of the rear benches and the shed). Just $35 each!
Drawing workshop at the Clark, July and August!
I'm thrilled to be teaching at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown this summer! I'll be facilitating a drop-in drawing workshop on the beautiful grounds of the Clark at Stone Hill. We'll be working with powdered graphite and charcoal (as well as their more familiar pencil forms..) to study the landscape, the architecture, and the sculptures on exhibit outside, and combinations of the above! For just $5, the Clark provides the supplies, and I'll be available to help out as much or as little as you want. ALL levels, from beginner on up are encouraged to come by and mess around! If you've never drawn before, great. If you're quite advanced, but would like the opportunity to experiment with drawing with powder, I promise, you'll get a lot out of this!
We even have a rainy day plan, where we'll be copying from prints of works from the Clark's Picasso and Degas show. Tuesdays in July, Saturdays in August. Seriously, for $5 a class, you really can't beat this!

Ms. Fox is open to a variety of commission possibilities. Traditional portraiture is one option, but commission subjects may extend to house portraiture, landscape, or even a still life incorporating favorite or personally meaningful objects.
A commissioned piece may be more affordable than you think, and Ms. Fox is eager to collaborate on these with interested clients Please contact to discuss!
studio21south: SNOW SHOW! February 12-March 14, 2010
This show was something else to organize! In the end, 12 artists are participating in this show which, allegedly, "features abstract and representational works which either celebrate or directly defy the season". Lots of beautiful interpretations, especially on the abstract side, and, of course, many snowscapes. In addition to a few figurative pieces, I did a few 'scenes'. Hard to think of them as landscapes...hmm. That's an interesting thought to file away for later. They, and the rest of the information about the show, can be seen at

"Here" at Gallery 51, North Adams, Sept. 24 through Oct 25
Curated by Leslie Ferrin (|http://www.ferringallery.com|Ferrin Gallery, Pittsfield), "Here" is a group show exploring North Adams, at this particular point in time. I'm quite pleased that my nocturnes have been selected for inclusion in this exciting show.
announcing the inaugural exhibit of studio21south, October 2009!
Located in the historic Beaver Mill in North Adams, MA, studio21south will feature four local oil painters; Frank Curran (Chatham, NY), Jaye Fox (North Adams, MA), Karen Kane (Williamstown, MA), and Thor Wickstrom (North Adams, MA). Frank's a big guy, and his landscape paintings look like they were done by a big guy. His etchings have what I'd call a great line; they're both beautiful and fun. Karen's work is abstract, full of vibrant color and strong forms. I've loved her stuff since I met her three years ago (geez, how time flies!). And Thor, who I call the lightnin' hopkins of painting, will have all the Berkshire landscapes, Kosciusko bridge paintings, and studio interiors that have been flying off the walls all summer. Samples of our work can be seen at the blog, www.studio21south.blogspot.com. Opening Reception is Friday, 10/9, 6 to 9pm. Hours will be 10-6pm on Columbus Day weekend, 10/10-12 and North Adams Open Studio weekend 10/17-18. Or, by appointment or by chance.
North Adams Artists Co-op
I'm showing some work all summer and fall at the North Adams Artists Co-Op, at the corner of Main St. and Marshall St. / Rt. 8. Don't let the ungainly name fool you, there's a truly spectacular selection of work. Check it out for yourself at http://www.naacogallery.com/ I've just got a few things up, but I can't over-emphasize what a terrific space it is, and how great it is to be a part of this stellar group.

2 Actors, 10 Artists opens June 26th!
Eclipse Mill Gallery, North Adams
June 26 through July 26
Opening: Friday, June 26, 6 to 8 pm
Ten artists will exhibit portraits of two models from the Main Street Stage here in North Adams. This show runs concurrent with a theatrical performance that includes the actor models.
The work in this show will be a fascinating culmination of months of working alongside other artists in group painting sessions, as well as working with actors from Main Street Stage. The process of making the work for this show is unusual for a number of reasons. The painters are sharing group sessions with the models, I have personal connections to several of the artists whom I'm working alongside, and know the actors through my participation in community theater (both onstage and through my set painting work). It should be interesting to see how these multiple levels of community and personal involvement inform the work!
Berkshire Salon, May 22-June 21
The Berkshire Salon provides an overview of the many artists creating in the region. 55 artists are participating in this non-juried show, located at Eclipse Mill, 243 Union Street, in North Adams, gallery open Saturday & Sunday 12-5.
I have one piece in the show, little nighttime vignette of the door across the street from my house in Brooklyn this winter.
North Adams Open Studios! October 18-19th, 2008!
Please visit me at the NAACo Gallery, 107 Main Street in North Adams, between 10-5, both Saturday and Sunday! I have also organized a fun show at Main Street stage, 57 Main Street, featuring a plethora of life drawings done during the "Red Room" cabaret nights at the stage, featuring a mix of professional and non-professional artists. My friend, Thor Wickstrom, has also included myself and several other of his friends in his open studio space at the Beaver Mill. Please stop by!
